The Conga project

The Conga Project is located in Cajamarca, in the Andean north of Peru. It is an extension of the largest gold mine in South America, the Yanacocha mine. Conga is the largest-ever mining investment in Peru.

A broad coalition of Peruvian civil society organizations, regional and local authorities and communities want the project to be cancelled for social and ecological reasons.
